My Child Life Story 

I first became interested in child life during my sophomore year of college. I was hospitalized at children's hospital in DC, and while I was in the PICU, I came across a brochure listing the services of the hospital, one of them being child life. I inquired about this service to my nurse, and was able to meet a certified child life specialist, as well as an intern for the hospital. Upon discussing what child life did, I knew that it was a perfect culmination of everything I was so passionate about. Afterwards I began volunteering at different hospitals in the Baltimore metropolitan community and later completed two child life practicums and my child life internship at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh! I am now certified through the Association of Child Life Professionals and am a Certified Child Life Specialist at Penn State Children's Hospital.
