Hi Isabel! My name is Lindsey and I'm a Child Life Specialist. I'm here to help make sure that you know why you are here today. Do you know why you are here today?
Momma said I ran out of medicine to make the legs hurt only a little.
Well today, the doctors here want to help give you some more of the special medicine that they used last time to make your arms and legs hurt less
I'd like that.
Today I brought a special friend namd Ellie to help show you what is going to happen today. Do you want my friend to come sit with us?
Yes Yes!
So this is my special friend and today and she is going to be getting special medicine too to help her legs and arms feel better. When the big hand on the clock points to 3 a doctor will come in with the medicine.
I want to see your friend.
Okay. We can show her what will happen today. First you get to choose if you want mommy or daddy to be with you when the the doctor comes.
Now you get to have some special lotion! Some kids tell me that the lotion can be kind of cold. Next, the doctor is going to have a needle with the special medicine in it. This is what it looks like. Have you seen a needle before?
I don't think so.
Okay, the doctor is going to put the needle right where he put the lotion. The lotion helps to make the needle not hurt. Some kids tell me that they feel a little pinch when the needle goes in though. Before the doctor puts the needle in, you can choose to look away or look at the needle. What do you think Ellie would like?

This will take about 30 minutes. 30 minutes is enough time to watch one whole episode of Doc McStuffins. Do you want to watch an episode while you get your medicine?
