Seizures can be controlled with medication, diet, devices, and/or surgical interventions

Most seizures do not cause brain damage but ongoing uncontrolled seizures might cause unintended damage

Not uncommon for children with epilepsy to develop behavioral and emotional problems in conjunction with seizures

Risk of sezures may affect independance

In some states, those with epilepsy are not allowed to drive
